Ben Talbot uses painting as a form of discourse, weaving together realism, recollection, and kinship to explore interpersonal narratives. Drawing inspiration from the visual language of traditional painters like Goya, as well as photographers such as Martin Parr and Henri Cartier-Bresson, Talbot captures motion and spontaneity within unusual contexts and monochromatic color palettes, infusing his work with irony and light-heartedness. Influenced by his relationships, collaborations with friends, and cultural references such as sports, Talbot paints playful, nostalgic moments frozen in time. Through soft brushstrokes, he immortalizes the beauty and meaning in the everyday, reflecting the community that shapes his life. Recent group exhibitions include Fleeting Moments at Open Gallery (2024) AND SEEING LOUD (2025), IN LONDON. Talbot was born in Manchester, UK in 1996 and currently lives and works in London.
